Good morning RAMS. Running club meets today after school in the library. Come join us for a great opportunity to run, play games and be outside.

Just a reminder that handwashing is the most effective way to keep yourself healthy. Make sure you are washing your hands regularly with soap and water and drying them thoroughly.  Washing your hands properly takes about as long as singing the "happy birthday" song twice. Lather up and sing to yourself to help keep yourself and your friends healthy!

Attention 8th graders, today will be the final round of visits to the High School. The following homerooms should report directly to the auditorium at 10:50 for dismissal with their coats and belongings, (Mulkerrin, Kizik, Cutone).  Please remember this is a typical school day for the high school students so we ask you to be respectful and quiet throughout the building.  Enjoy your time.

Did you meet the Say Something Week challenge from yesterday?   Did you make a difference in someone's day yesterday? Did someone help you out?  Caring for each other is a value we promote here in school and beyond, both in face-to-face interactions and online. At RAMS we continue to raise awareness and educate ourselves about all the ways we have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us. Let's see how we can make that positive change today!

Attention students:  due to the monthly staff meeting held the first Tuesday of each month, there are no after-school activities today (except for Extended Day).

Attention 8th graders, today will be the first round of visits to the High School. The following homerooms should report directly to the auditorium at 10:50 for dismissal with their coats and belongings, (Simoneau,Piercy, Farese).  Please remember this is a typical school day for the high school students so we ask you to be respectful and quiet throughout the building.  Enjoy your time.
For Say Something week the members of the Beautiful Mind Campaign took time during their club meeting yesterday to talk about what it means to be an upstander vs. a bystander and have some thoughts to share with the school community.  First and foremost being an upstander means being the bigger person, being the one who is brave enough to take action about something to help another.  When you are an upstander you are letting another person know that they are not alone, and this can make all the difference.  To be an upstander you can start with the smallest of things like just saying hi to someone.  A club member shared how an experience of kindness from someone completely changed her day and helped her during a very difficult time when she was struggling with depression. Perhaps you can think about a time when someone was an upstander for you and how that made you feel.  Or perhaps you can think of a time when you were an upstander and how that helped someone else.  We all have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.  Try to notice what is going on around you today and see what you can do!

Just a reminder to all students that there is no alternate lunch space until further notice.

Are you ready to become a shrewd entrepreneur and learn the tactics to successfully run a business? Then you should join the Entrepreneurship Club! We will meet every Wednesday in Mr. Conant’s room, room 123, to research into the business world and maybe have local entrepreneurs share their experiences with us in person as well!
News Team is cancelled for today. See you next week!

Today marks the start of Say Something call to Action week that thousands of schools across the country will be participating in.  Here at RAMS we want to raise awareness and educate ourselves about all the ways we have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.  We want to celebrate students being upstanders in our school and the greater community.  Please talk with one another today about what you think it means to be an upstander and stay tuned each day for more information.
