Attention students:  due to the monthly staff meeting held the first Tuesday of each month, there are no after-school activities today (except for Extended Day).

Attention 8th graders, today will be the first round of visits to the High School. The following homerooms should report directly to the auditorium at 10:50 for dismissal with their coats and belongings, (Simoneau,Piercy, Farese).  Please remember this is a typical school day for the high school students so we ask you to be respectful and quiet throughout the building.  Enjoy your time.
For Say Something week the members of the Beautiful Mind Campaign took time during their club meeting yesterday to talk about what it means to be an upstander vs. a bystander and have some thoughts to share with the school community.  First and foremost being an upstander means being the bigger person, being the one who is brave enough to take action about something to help another.  When you are an upstander you are letting another person know that they are not alone, and this can make all the difference.  To be an upstander you can start with the smallest of things like just saying hi to someone.  A club member shared how an experience of kindness from someone completely changed her day and helped her during a very difficult time when she was struggling with depression. Perhaps you can think about a time when someone was an upstander for you and how that made you feel.  Or perhaps you can think of a time when you were an upstander and how that helped someone else.  We all have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.  Try to notice what is going on around you today and see what you can do!
