Parent Ed: “Most Likely to Succeed” documentary

You are invited to a screening of the ground-breaking documentary; Most Likely to Succeed, followed by an interactive discussion with a panel of experts about re-imagining our school system.


This is a must-attend event for administrators, faculty, parents, counselors, interested students and community members; this discussion affects everyone with an interest in education, at all levels. Join us for this compelling community-wide event to learn more about the history of education in the United States and explore how we can encourage creativity and innovation in our schools to equip students for the changing needs of the future. It is your school system and we want you to be involved.


The Sundance-selected documentary has a running time of 89 minutes and explores compelling new approaches to educating students in today’s innovative world and offers ways to revolutionize teaching as we know it. After seeing this film, the way you think about ‘school’ will never be the same again. A 30-minute panel discussion and Q & A session will follow to begin the conversation about how Holliston Public Schools can explore these ideas further. The event is FREE.


Our panelists; Mrs. Karla Garvin, HPS Montessori Director, Ms. Dominique Ross, HHS Guidance Department Leader and Dr. Brad Jackson, HPS Superintendent,  bringing you a cross-section of knowledge and insights to open the discussion.

NATURE’S CLASSROOM:

  • We are seeking a number of parents to volunteer for Nature’s Classroom Departure Day on Monday, April 24 from 8:00am – 10:00am. (the first day after April vacation)  We are hoping that we can ask for 7th and 8th grade parents to step up and help with checking in and directing students/parents, labeling luggage and other duties so that parents of 6th graders can attend to checking in/dropping off their sons and daughters.  If you are a 6th grade parent and would like to volunteer, you are welcome to help once you make sure your child is all set.If you can help for all or part of the two hours, please contact Maura Marczewski at mjaym@verizon.net.

MS PTO meetings:

  • Every other month on the second Wednesday at 9AM.  Meetings are casual and open to all Adams School parents and guardians.  Our LAST meeting for 2016-2017 will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 9 AM! Please sign-in with the office and you will be directed to our meeting room.


Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night

Robert Adams Middle School will be hosting our Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night on Wednesday April 12th at 6:30 PM in the RAMS Auditorium.  The night is meant for parents, but students are welcome to attend.  The night will be hosted by Mr. Jordan, Assistant Principal.  It will also include a Q&A session with some of our RAMS Student Leaders.


There will be a  30 minute Special Education information session led by Mrs. Camp, Student Services Administrator, starting at 6:00 PM in the Library.  Parents will then be able to  come straight to the auditorium after.


Grade 6 Nature’s Classroom

ATTENTION GRADE 6 PARENTS: This is a reminder the NATURE'S CLASSROOM MEDICATION FORM that was in the February packet, is due by Friday April 7.  As the letter states: "If you are NOT sending any prescription or over-the-counter medication, simply write your child’s name, sign the form and return it as we must have a signed medication form returned for each student".  Thank you.


MCAS Schedule with Updated Math/Science Dates

Today was the first day of ELA MCAS Testing for 6th grade, with testing for all grades starting soon.  Please refer to the MCAS Schedule for dates of ELA, Math, and Science testing.
