Middle School Recommendations for 2018-2019 School Year

Recommendations for students in grades 6 and 7  for the following school year placements will be mailed home on Tuesday, April 3.  Students should return those forms by April 13. As outlined in the letter, please be sure to contact the appropriate teachers and/or Curriculum Coordinators should you have any questions.

Grade 6 Nature’s Classroom-Important Form Due

ATTENTION 6TH GRADE PARENTS: The Medication Form for Nature’s Classroom must be completed and returned to the Main Office by MONDAY, APRIL 2nd for all students attending, whether or not you are sending medications.  If you are not sending any prescription or over-the-counter medication, simply write your child’s name, sign the form and return it as we must have a signed medication form returned for each student.

Virtual Parent Coffee Talk

Mr. Jordan and Mrs. Beattie will be hosting a Virtual Coffee Talk on Tuesday, April 10 from 6:00-6:30 PM.  This upcoming Coffee Talk will feature our School Adjustment Counselor, Gretchen Powers.  The topic will be Helping our Middle Schoolers Cope: Tips for talking to your children about tragedy.  The current event topics that our students face today can be difficult to explain and make many adults cringe.  Social media brings these conversations to our students and it falls to parents and teachers to help explain the tough topics and answer the questions that are asked.

We hope that you can join us. Please click the link below to post questions to be answered live on April 10.

Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night

Robert Adams Middle School will be hosting our Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night on Wednesday, April 11th at 6:30 PM in the RAMS Auditorium.  The night is meant for parents, but students are welcome to attend.  The night will be hosted by Mr. Jordan, Principal and Mrs. Beattie, Interim Assistant Principal.  It will also include a Q&A session with some of our RAMS Student Leaders and Mrs. Gavan one of our Guidance Counselors.

There will be a  30 minute Special Education information session led by Mrs. Camp, Student Services Administrator, starting at 6:00 PM in the Library.  Parents will then be able to come straight to the auditorium after.

MCAS Schedule

Today was the first day of ELA MCAS Testing for 6th and 7th grade students. Please help remind your child to charge their Chromebook each night.  Please refer to the MCAS Schedule for the remaining dates for ELA testing. The Math and Science schedule to follow soon.
