We hope that you have all had a wonderful and relaxing summer. As we approach the start of the upcoming school year, we want to welcome our families back with an informational letter to help guide you and your child with some important reminders and dates.  We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Open Building Presentations

On Wednesday, August 23 we are offering parents and students an early opportunity to come in and tour the school and meet with school administrators.  This opportunity is intended for Grade 6 parents and students, and Grade 7 and 8 parents and students who are new to Adams.   If you are interested and available, please come to our “Open Building” and meet us in the Middle School Auditorium.  The presentations will begin promptly at 10am.  Please note that this presentation will be mainly focused on addressing parents’ “Frequently Asked Questions”.  In addition, for parents who were unable to attend the Adams Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night held in the spring, we will very briefly summarize the school’s mission and academic programs.  We will also be taking questions throughout the presentation.  While the parent presentations are going on, student leaders will conduct building tours for incoming students.


Chromebook Registration

The Chromebook Loan Agreement for the 2017-2018 school year is now available online. All families are required to fill out this document for each of their students regardless of whether or not they choose to participate in the optional insurance program.  Please return this document and optional check to the Robert Adams Middle School office or mail to Robert Adams Middle School, 323 Woodland Street, Holliston, MA 01746 by August 29th.  Students will not be issued a Chromebook until the Chromebook Loan Agreement is received.


It is highly recommended that parents participate in the optional insurance program ($40/student/year) to provide coverage in case of loss or damage of the Chromebook.  We encourage families to review the Chromebook Care and Use Guide before signing the loan agreement.  


2017-2018 Student Schedules

Student schedules are currently available on iParent.  Families of entering 6th graders and families without iParent access will receive hard copies of schedules this week.  Due to unforeseen challenges, some schedules and homerooms may be subject to change leading up to the first day of school. Guidance Counselors will be returning on August 24, and will begin processing changes and questions on August 25.  


In order to access the iParent portal, you will need to register for an iParent account.  If you already have an account for a student at the high school or middle school, you will not need to register again and will have immediate access to your middle school student’s information.


To register for an iParent account, please follow the instructions below:


  1. Access the online registration form: iParent Portal Registration


  1. Fill out the Account Application Form by creating your own User ID and Password.  Please note that you will need your child’s four digit Student ID number to complete the application.  Student ID numbers are the same 4 digits used by students when getting lunch in the cafeteria and logging onto Chromebooks.  If your student does not know their Student ID number, please email the Middle School office at meredithm@holliston.k12.ma.us.  Please note you must fill in all fields with a red asterisk as well as the “Relationship with Student” field.


  1. When completed, click on “Submit” for approval/activation.  You will receive an immediate email confirmation that you applied for an account.  Once your account has been verified and activated, you will receive another email with further login instructions.

Student Lunch Information

Any family who is interested in prepaying for school lunches please sign into the following MySchoolBucks and UniPayGold . MySchoolBucks allows parents to view balances, set low balance reminders, and create auto and recurring payments.  

Please note, students are always allowed to pay daily with cash in the cafeteria.


RAMS Interscholastic Athletics

Registration for our Fall Interscholastic Sports (Cross-Country, Field Hockey and Volleyball) will begin online today, August 15th at 10 a.m. Please note that Cross-Country and Field Hockey will be open to students in grades 6, 7, & 8. Volleyball will only be open to students in grades 7 & 8 with limited space available.

2017 Summer Reading Information

At Robert Adams Middle School, we understand the importance of both academic and recreational reading. As studies have proven, when students read for pleasure, they benefit in all subjects, not just English. Recreational reading improves vocabulary, spelling, reading fluency, and background knowledge. In creating our lists, we sought the advice of students who were in the grade your child is entering. Thus, the list is authentic, and we feel that many of the titles will prove both compelling and enjoyable. To guide decisions on books, students and their parents may wish to look at reviews on amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, or other media sources to get a sense for what the book is about and how others reacted to it. Consulting with librarians or knowledgeable booksellers might help as well.
