RAMS News August 17, 2015

posted Aug 20, 2015, 5:59 AM by David Jordan

The Holliston Public Schools has initiated a program to provide each student who is actively enrolled at Robert Adams Middle School a Google Chromebook laptop computer, a carrying sleeve, and Chromebook charger. The aim of this program is to promote communication, collaboration, and critical thinking among our students and teachers.

We ask that all families review, complete and sign the Robert Adams Middle School Chromebook Loan Agreement, regardless of whether you will be participating in the optional insurance program.  It is highly recommended that parents participate in the optional insurance program ($40/student/year) to provide coverage in case of loss or damage of the Chromebook.  The Robert Adams Middle School Chromebook Loan Agreement and Care and Use Guide are available on the school website under Online Resources or by clicking on any of the Loan Agreement or Care and Use links in this paragraph.

Please return the signed Loan Agreement with a $40 check for the optional insurance (if desired) to the Adams Middle School office if at all possible by August 28.

Welcome Letters and Schedules

Robert Adams Middle School Welcome Letters and schedules were mailed out on Thursday, August 13 and should have been received.  We recognize that some parents, with siblings at HHS, may have had access to homeroom and team information through iParent before letters were received in the mail.  We apologize for the confusion associated with this.  After this year, iParent will be open to all middle school parents, thus eliminating this as a future concern.

Open Building Presentations- August 26, 2015

Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan will be holding an open building presentation on August 26th in the Robert Adams Middle School Auditorium.  The presentation is meant for the parents of 6th grade students and parents of 7th and 8th graders that are new to Robert Adams Middle School.  The 6th grade presentation will begin at 10:00 am.  The 7th and 8th grade presentation will begin at 11:30 am.

During the course of the presentation, parents will learn about many of the processes and procedures at Adams, while addressing many commonly asked questions.  Additionally, future students will join student tours guides from the Leadership Team to tour the building.

Athletics:  Fall Interscholastic Sports

We are looking forward to the start of the 2015-16 Adams Interscholastic Athletic Program.  Fall sports for 2015 will include Cross-Country, Field Hockey and Volleyball.  Registration opened on Wednesday, August 12th, 2014 and will remain open until team rosters have reached their pre-established limits. Preference will be given to 7th and 8th grade athletes for Volleyball.  Enrollment/acceptance into the program is made available on a first come/first serve basis once online registration has been completed AND all Enrollment/Acceptance Required Documents  (please see below) have been submitted and certified by the athletic department and school nurse.
