Back to School Reminders:

As the start of the school year is near we wanted to provide a few helpful reminders:

  • First Day of school: Tuesday, August 28

  • School hours: 7:30am-1:53pm

  • Drop Off Reminders:

    • Doors Open at 7:00 am for student drop off. Students head to homeroom at 7:15.

    • We have 2 Drop Off/Pick Loops- Linden Street(Back) & Visitor Parking Loop(front).

    • Officer Woods, our School Resource Officer will be out front to help with traffic. No drop offs will be allowed in the front of the building, due to bus traffic. Please be sure to use the designated drop off loops.

  • Please keep in mind buses may be running late due to learning new stops, and with our new traffic lights in town. Please be sure to have your student at the stop a few minutes early.

Student Schedules

Student schedules are available through our new student management system PowerSchool. Due to unforeseen challenges, some schedules and homerooms may be subject to change leading up to the first day of school. Guidance Counselors will be returning on August 24, and will begin processing changes and questions.

Please see the links below to our Welcome Letters, which contain important information and dates for the start of the 2018-2019 school year.

Chromebook Loan Agreement

At Robert Adams Middle School, each student will be provided a Google Chromebook laptop computer, a carrying sleeve, and Chromebook charger. The aim of the Chromebook is to promote communication, collaboration, and critical thinking among our students and teachers.

As of August 1, families will be able to complete the 2018-2019 Robert Adams Middle School Chromebook Loan Agreement.  It is highly recommended that parents participate in an optional insurance program ($40/student/year) to provide coverage in case of loss or damage of the Chromebook.  We encourage families to review the 2018-2019 Chromebook Care and Use Guide before signing the loan agreement. The Robert Adams Middle School Chromebook Loan Agreement and Care and Use Guide is available on our school website under Online Resources.

Chromebook distribution will begin as early as Thursday, August 30 for our Grade 7 & 8 students, upon receipt of their Loan Agreement. Grade 6 students will receive their Chromebooks once they have been trained and completed the Loan Agreement.

Open Building Presentations

On Wednesday, August 22 at 10:00 am, we are offering parents and students an early opportunity to come in and tour the school and meet with school administrators.  This opportunity is intended for Grade 6 parents and students, as well as Grade 7 and 8 parents and students who are new to Adams.   If you are interested and available, please come to our “Open Building” and meet us in the Middle School Auditorium. The presentations will begin promptly at 10am.  Please note that this presentation will be mainly focused on addressing parents’ “Frequently Asked Questions”. In addition, for parents who were unable to attend the Adams Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night held in the spring, we will very briefly summarize the school’s mission and academic programs.  We will also be taking questions throughout the presentation. While the parent presentations are going on, student leaders will conduct building tours for incoming students.

RAMS Interscholastic Athletics

Registration for our Fall Interscholastic Sports (Cross-Country, Field Hockey and Volleyball) is available through the following link. Please note that Cross-Country and Field Hockey will be open to students in grades 6, 7, & 8. Volleyball will only be open to students in grades 7 & 8 with limited space available.
