Term 1 Report Cards Distribution

As Term 1 comes to a close, we will be shutting down the access to the report card and progress report features within the iPass Parent Portal from Wednesday, November 29 to Friday, December 8. This will allow teachers the opportunity to finalize the Term 1 grades for their students.  This year we will begin issuing online report cards. More information will be forthcoming, as the report cards are completed and ready for viewing.  It is our intention to have report cards available Friday, December 8 on iPass.

7th Grade Student Mood Check Screening Parent Night

Just a reminder that the 7th Grade Mood Check screenings are scheduled for the week of December 11-15.  Mood Check is a depression prevention initiative for students, supported by the Holliston Public Schools and directed by Tracy Gladstone, a licensed clinical psychologist from the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College.

The student program will begin with a Signs of Suicide training and video.  Students will then fill out a brief depression screening measure meant to identify students who may be at higher risk for depression, and will be asked to designate whether or not they would like to meet with a member of our team right away to express concerns about themselves or about a peer. Students who score above a designated threshold, or who express concern about themselves or a peer, will take part in an  individual interview with a trained social worker or psychologist.  Students who express concerns about a peer will be asked to share those concerns with a member of Dr. Gladstone’s team.  Students with elevated scores on our screening measure, or with concerns about themselves, will be screened for current or past depression and/or suicidal thinking.  These adolescents will be told that staff will not share information they provide with parents/guardians unless staff learn that they are experiencing significant symptoms of depression, meet criteria for a depressive disorder, or are in danger of harming themselves or others.  The outcomes of the screenings will NOT be shared with the school or with school personnel, without permission from a parent/guardian.

Laps-at-Lunch- Parent Volunteers Needed!!

Our Laps-at-Lunch initiative has been a huge success!  Students are loving the opportunity to go outside and walk during lunch.

In order to continue with this initiative, we are in serious need of parent volunteers.  If you have any availability between 11:00-12:30 Monday-Friday, please sign up using the link.  To volunteer, parents will need a CORI on file, which can be filled out in the RAMS front office.

Winter White Out All-School Dance is Friday, December 8!

There will be an all-school dance on Friday December 8 from 6:30-9:00 PM in the RAMS Gym and Cafeteria, run by the National Honor Society. The theme is Winter White out, and the attire is casual - just wear some or all white. Tickets will be sold at lunch this week for $10, but will NOT be sold at the door. All proceeds made from ticket sales are donated to the Relay for Life fundraiser. In addition, we ask students to bring a food pantry item to be entered in a raffle to win a prize.
