RAMS Administration

As many may already know, Peter Botelho has transitioned from principal of Adams to assistant superintendent of the Holliston Public Schools.  All of the staff at Adams are very happy for Dr. Botelho and wish him the best in his new role.  There is no doubt that we will see him often at Adams, visiting classes in this new capacity.  Dr. Botelho was at Adams for 10 year and has left a legacy of impactful change that we hope to continue.

David Jordan, Assistant Principal, will be transitioning into the interim principal position for the 2017-2018 school year and Jessica Beattie, Guidance Counselor, will be interim assistant principal.  There will be a formal search for a permanent principal after the midyear.

At Robert Adams Middle School, each student will be provided a Google Chromebook laptop computer, a carrying sleeve, and Chromebook charger. The aim of the Chromebook is to promote communication, collaboration, and critical thinking among our students and teachers.

Beginning August 1, families will be able to complete the 2017-2018 Robert Adams Middle School Chromebook Loan Agreement.  It is highly recommended that parents participate in an optional insurance program ($40/student/year) to provide coverage in case of loss or damage of the Chromebook.  We encourage families to review the 2017-2018 Chromebook Care and Use Guide before signing the loan agreement.  The Robert Adams Middle School Chromebook Loan Agreement and Care and Use Guide will be available on the school website and emailed out to parents by August 1, 2017.

2017-2018 Student Schedules

Student schedules will be available in iParent Friday, August 4th after 5:00 PM.  Families of entering 6th graders and families without iParent access will receive hard copies of schedules later the next week.  Due to unforeseen challenges, some schedules and homerooms may be subject to change leading up to the first day of school. Guidance Counselors will be returning on August 24, and will begin processing changes and questions on August 25.

In order to access the iParent portal, you will need to register for an iParent account.  If you already have an account for a student at the high school or middle school, you will not need to register again and will have immediate access to your middle school student’s information.

To register for an iParent account, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Fill out the Account Application Form by creating your own User ID and Password.  Please note that you will need your child’s four digit Student ID number to complete the application.  Student ID numbers are the same 4 digits used by students when getting lunch in the cafeteria and logging onto Chromebooks.  If your student does not know their Student ID number, please email the Middle School office at  Please note you must fill in all fields with a red asterisk as well as the “Relationship with Student” field.

Open Building Presentations

On Wednesday, August 23 we are offering parents and students an early opportunity to come in and tour the school and meet with school administrators.  This opportunity is intended for Grade 6 parents and students, and Grade 7 and 8 parents and students who are new to Adams.   If you are interested and available, please come to our “Open Building” and meet us in the Middle School Auditorium.  The presentations will begin promptly at 10am.  Please note that this presentation will be mainly focused on addressing parents’ “Frequently Asked Questions”.  In addition, for parents who were unable to attend the Adams Grade 5 to 6 Transition Night held in the spring, we will very briefly summarize the school’s mission and academic programs.  We will also be taking questions throughout the presentation.  While the parent presentations are going on, student leaders will conduct building tours for incoming students.

2017 Summer Reading Information now Available

At Robert Adams Middle School, we understand the importance of both academic and recreational reading. As studies have proven, when students read for pleasure, they benefit in all subjects, not just English. Recreational reading improves vocabulary, spelling, reading fluency, and background knowledge. In creating our lists, we sought the advice of students who were in the grade your child is entering. Thus, the list is authentic, and we feel that many of the titles will prove both compelling and enjoyable. To guide decisions on books, students and their parents may wish to look at reviews on,, or other media sources to get a sense for what the book is about and how others reacted to it. Consulting with librarians or knowledgeable booksellers might help as well.
