7th Grade Student Mood Check Screening Parent Night

We will be hosting a second parent information night on Tuesday, November 28 at 6:30pm in the RAMS Library to discuss Mood Check: Holliston.  Mood Check is a depression prevention initiative for students, supported by the Holliston Public Schools and directed by Tracy Gladstone, a licensed clinical psychologist from the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College.

The student program will begin with a Signs of Suicide training and video.  Students will fill then out a brief depression screening measure meant to identify students who may be at higher risk for depression, and will be asked to designate whether or not they would like to meet with a member of our team right away to express concerns about themselves or about a peer. Students who score above a designated threshold, or who express concern about themselves or a peer, will take part in an  individual interview with a trained social worker or psychologist.  Students who express concerns about a peer will be asked to share those concerns with a member of Dr. Gladstone’s team.  Students with elevated scores on our screening measure, or with concerns about themselves, will be screened for current or past depression and/or suicidal thinking.  These adolescents will be told that staff will not share information they provide with parents/guardians unless staff learn that they are experiencing significant symptoms of depression, meet criteria for a depressive disorder, or are in danger of harming themselves or others.  The outcomes of the screenings will NOT be shared with the school or with school personnel, without permission from a parent/guardian.   Screenings are scheduled to occur December 11-15.

Laps-at-Lunch- Parent Volunteers Needed!!

Our Laps-at-Lunch initiative continues to be a huge success!  Students are loving the opportunity to go outside and walk during lunch, even when it is a bit chilly.

In order to continue with this initiative, we are in serious need of parent volunteers.  If you have any availability between 11:00-12:30 Monday-Friday, please use the link below to sign up.  Just a reminder that parents will need a current CORI on file, which can be filled out in the RAMS front office.

November Lunch Menu

We would like to welcome the Adams Middle School students & families back to school lunch. Attached is the lunch menu for November so you have up to date information when you are making your school lunch choices. November is a bit of a crazy month with Professional Development for our staff as well as celebrating Thanksgiving but we were still able to fit in some new menu offerings. On Thursday November 9 try our popcorn chicken bowl. This is a very popular offering at area secondary schools so we thought we would give it a try here. On Monday November 13 & 20 we will be baking Pizzeria Uno pizzas fresh in our pizza ovens. We are offering Chicken, bacon ranch on the 13 & buffalo chicken on the 20. Let us know what you think! The rest of the month rounds out with favorites such as toasted ravioli, chicken parmesan & beef & cheese nachos. We also offer chicken patty sandwiches, pasta & various sandwiches & salads every day.

If you haven't tried school lunch in a while, November is a great month to dig in. Hungry children can't learn & we in the Food Service Department are doing our part!
