Middle School Pit Crew- Pilot Computer Science Course

Starting in January, the halfway split between Art and Tech Ed, we will be piloting a Computer Science Course in 7th and 8th grade similar to the Pit Crew at Holliston High School.  The Middle School Pit Crew will be predominantly focused on repairing and troubleshooting issues with the hardware and software of student Chromebooks. However, students will also be involved in website design, programming, and technology repair outside of just the Chromebooks.

Interested students should be able to operate with a high level of independence and autonomy, be creative, and have a high interest in computer science.  This course will meet 1-2 times every 6 day cycle and it will replace one of the students’ existing electives.

If your student would be interested in participating, please fill out the following interest survey.

Grade 6 Nature’s Classroom Parent Information Night

Just a reminder if you have not turned in your child’s Nature’s Classroom Packet, please do so as soon as possible. All forms and deposit can be turned into our Main Office.

Additionally, we are in higher need of parent chaperones this year. If you are interested please make sure to complete the form within the packet.

Johns Hopkins Information

For the past several years, some of our students from the middle school have chosen to participate in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) talent search.  Adams Middle School has no affiliation with Johns Hopkins but has simply shared information about the program to all 7th grade students. We note, too, that there should be no pressure to participate.  Although some kids have enjoyed the experience, the decision whether or not to participate should be made by you and your child on an individual basis. Please click on the link below for additional information regarding the program and the after school club to help prepare students should they choose to participate.

Laps-at-Lunch- Parent Volunteers Needed!!

Our Laps-at-Lunch initiative continues to be a huge success!  Students are loving the opportunity to go outside and walk during lunch, or walk the gym when it is a bit chilly.

In order to continue with this initiative, we are in serious need of parent volunteers.  If you have any availability between 11:00-12:30 Monday-Friday, please use the link below to sign up.  Just a reminder that parents will need a current CORI on file, which can be filled out in the RAMS front office.
