Magazine Drive- Alternative Payment adjusted document
We know that some have expressed a desire for “no more magazines!” but still want to support the Middle School’s key school initiatives such as 6th Grade Nature’s Classroom, 8th Grade Community Service Day, Teacher Appreciation week.
As an alternative to purchasing magazines, we welcome donations of any amount to MSPTSA where 100% of your donation goes directly to the Holliston Middle School PTSA programs. Please view the MS PTSA Alternative Donation Form for more details on how to donate.
Principals’ Podcast: Virtual Parent Coffee talk
Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan, with the help of the PTSA, will be holding their first ever virtual parent coffee talk. In an effort to expand the school’s ability to communicate in alternative ways with parents, Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan will be available in an online forum to answer any questions that parents may have. The virtual coffee talk will be held the evening of November 4, 2015 from 6:30-7:30 PM.
The Coffee Talk will be in the format of a podcast. When you click on the link to the podcast, you will see a video screen on the left and a form to post questions and/or comments on the right. The podcast will begin on this screen promptly at 6:30 PM. Feel free to post questions at any time between now and the start of the podcast. This will give Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan a place to start from. However, once the podcast begins the same form can be used to post live questions for Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan to respond to.
Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan will do their best to answer as many of the questions as possible in the one hour timeframe. Along with posting the recorded podcast, Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan will post answers to questions that the principals were unable to get to.
Homework Log Survey
In an effort to understand nightly student workload, this week students are completing a log of how much homework they completed for each class the night before. We will complete similar homework logs at two other points in the year, to further understand what homework experiences are for students over the course of the year.
Parent Ed Night
Tuesday November 3rd, 2015, 7-9pm, Adams Middle School Auditorium. “Cooperative Play as a Means of Enhancing Social Skills and Self-Image”
Bruce Sabian, MA, LMHC, founder, director, counselor at Academy Metrowest, a children’s group therapy practice in Natick, will outline the principles of using cooperative, non-competitive physical activity as a means of helping children learn to improve the way they view themselves and interact with others.
The workshop will be particularly useful for parents of children and adolescents, age 5-16, with ADHD, ASD or other issues in which social skills delays figure prominently.
6th Grade Dance Lessons
Attention 6th grade parents: “Let’s Dance”, a fun social dance program for 6th grade boys and girls is about to get underway! We are pleased to have, once again, engaged the services of Mr. Paul Lamoureaux to give six weeks of dance instruction to our students.
The program will begin on Thursday, November 5, 2015 and be held for six Thursday evenings, ending on December 17. Ask any parent who has come through Adams. “Let’s Dance” is a staple experience for Holliston students. Please click on the following link to read further details on how to sign up.

Keefe Tech Visit Nov. 13th
On the morning of November 13th the 8th grade class will be visiting Keefe Regional Technical School accompanied by their School Counselor and 8th grade faculty.
Keefe Regional Technical School is the Career and Technical school that serves our students along with students from Ashland, Framingham, Hopkinton and Natick. The students will be transported to and from Robert Adams Middle School by school bus.
During the visit each student will have the opportunity to learn about two competitive Career and Technical Programs of their choice, as well as the rigorous academic offerings, athletic and extracurricular activities at Keefe Tech. The goal of the field trip is for students to receive information about Career and Technical education and participate in career development. The students will return to Holliston in time for lunch.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact our Guidance Department.
