Grade 7 Health Screenings

Our annual health screenings will be conducted at the Middle School on Thursday, October 11, 2018 by our Nursing staff. In accordance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations, the following screenings will take place.

  • 7th Grade: vision, hearing, height weight, postural (scoliosis)

These screenings are mandated by the state. A religious exemption, medical exemption, or a doctor's note submitted before the screening is acceptable to excuse your child from any portion of the exam.  Please feel free to contact Cathi Porcello, School Nurse at porcelloc@holliston.k12.ma.us if you have any questions or concerns.  If your student has any findings outside of normal limits, you will be notified and encouraged to take your child to a physician for further evaluation.

RAMS Counselors Parent Night

Please join our counselors as they chat and answer questions regarding the challenges and stressors that today’s middle school students face.  We will meet in our school library, in a round table conversation regarding things like social media, balancing schedules-school and activities, and peer relationships. Please join us on Wednesday, October 17 @ 6:30 PM.

First Virtual Parent Coffee Talk

Mr. Jordan and Mrs. Beattie will be hosting the first virtual parent coffee talk of the year on Wednesday October 10 from 4:45-5:15 PM.  For those of you that are new to Adams, Mr. Jordan and Mrs. Beattie will host a podcast in an effort to expand the school’s ability to communicate in alternative ways with parents.  For 2018-2019, there will be several podcasts that will run for approximately 20 minutes at a time. On the side of the screen, there will be an area for parents to post live questions to the hosts or guests that they will answer in the order that they come in.

Our first Virtual Parent Coffee Talk this year will be focusing on What’s New Here at Adams? We will use this time to provide you information on great things our students and teachers are doing, upcoming events, and important information regarding your middle schooler. Please use this link to submit questions before the airing of the podcast and during the podcast.  At the conclusion of the broadcast, the video will be posted on the school website.

Grade 6 Nature’s Classroom Parent Information Night

On Tuesday, October 16th from 6:30-7:00 pm in the RAMS Auditorium Mrs. Beattie, along with  Mrs. Conahan, Mrs. Ditto-Kustwan, and Mrs. Burns will be hosting an informational night for 6th grade parents to discuss the Spring Nature’s Classroom trip.  It is highly encouraged that all 6th grade parents attend. At the event, we will discuss what a typical day looks like at Nature’s Classroom, review all of the necessary school forms for participation, cost, housing arrangements, and behavioral expectations. We hope to see you there!

Take time to look at all there is to offer online. We will be posting information along the way through the RAMS News and provide Facebook reminders as well.  We thank you for your support!
