IParent Sign-up

In our effort to improve communication and information on student progress, we are pleased to announce that we will be opening the iPass iParent Portal for RAMS parents and guardians and their children by the end of the first term in early December.   The iParent Portal is an important part of iPass, the Student Information System used by the Holliston Public Schools that will allow you and your child to access your child’s schedule, attendance and grades.

Be on the look-out for IParent registration information in the next few days.

Virtual Parent Coffee Talk

Save the date!!  Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan, with the help of the PTSA, will be holding their first ever virtual parent coffee talk.  In an effort to expand the school’s ability to communicate in alternative ways with parents, Mr. Botelho and Mr. Jordan will be available in an online forum to answer any questions that parents may have.  The virtual coffee talk will be held the evening of November 4, 2015 from 6:30-7:30 PM.

The link to the virtual coffee talk will be posted in the November 1st RAMS News.  Additionally, a form will go out to parents to gather information on possible topics or starter questions to begin the conversation that evening.

RAMS School Council Parent Representatives

We are looking for interested parents/guardians to serve as representatives on this year’s School Council.  The group will typically meet on Thursdays once a month at 3:30 to discuss school goals and our progress and efforts to support those goals.  The group will also provide input on goals for the following year. It is great opportunity to bring a parent perspective to school community efforts.

If you are interested in serving on this year’s school council, please email Principal Peter Botelho at botelhop@holliston.k12.ma.us.

Student Survey

In order for the school, to best help understand our students level of stress both in school and out of school, students were asked to complete our Student School Climate Survey in homeroom classes this week. Using the data collected, staff will implement strategies to address areas of concern.  The school wishes to take an honest look at where the school can build student stress management skills and in areas where school practices generate unnecessary levels of stress.  Please know that this survey is anonymous.

A parent survey will be posted on the RAMS Guidance website in the next week.  It will contain similar questions to that of the student survey.

Additionally, the school will be administering a daily homework log tracked through Google Forms to further understand the nightly workload expectations on the students of RAMS.

The Magazine Drive is Starting Next Week!!

MS PTSA runs the one and only RAMS fundraiser of the year – The Magazine Drive.  The sales campaign will run from Monday, October 19th to Monday, November 9th.

All parents are encouraged to review the links to the documents below.  All orders & renewals will be placed online.  Go to gaschoolstore.com and enter school #2590990 to order. Also visit the site to set-up your child’s account.  Please be sure to enter your student’s homeroom teacher during set-up so that your child’s sales can qualify for prizes.  Once set up, you will be ready to easily place orders in October and send out emails to friends and family in advance to let them know how they can support your child and the Adams Middle School PTSA. Questions? Please contact Jill Sykes jillsykes22@gmail.com or Laura Lockwood locklaura@gmail.com.
