RAMS Clubs & Late Buses
Dear RAMS Families,
We are excited to share that clubs will begin the week of September 15th, and we have a few updates regarding late buses! A list of our clubs can be found on the school website, so be sure to check it out!
Similar to last year, there are two late buses: A and B, and they will now arrive at 4:00 p.m. instead of 3:30. Clubs will run until 3:30, and after that, students can head to the lobby to wait or go outside for the buses. Walkers, bike riders, and parent pickups can leave at 3:30. If students are being picked up between 3:45 and 4:00 p.m., their ride must use the loop on the side of the building to allow buses to pull in and safely load students.
If you’re unsure about which bus your child should be on, they can visit the main office before 3:30, where Mrs. Ahronian will be happy to assist. Please remind students that after 3:30, they should either be in the lobby or outside, as wandering the building is not allowed.
There will be supervision from 3:30-4:00 while students are waiting for the late buses, so rest assured everyone is covered!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the front office, myself, or Ryan Holland.
Wishing you all an amazing weekend, and thank you for your continued support!
Kindly,
Karen Manning
After-School Medications
If your RAMS student will be staying for ANY after-school activity (i.e. sports, clubs, etc.) and has a rescue medication prescribed (i.e. Epipen, inhaler, seizure rescue medication, etc.), please check-in with the school nurse as soon as possible to make a plan for after-school activities, since typically no nurse is in the building after dismissal. We encourage all of our students to carry their own EpiPens and/or inhalers, however consent to self-carry MUST be on file with the school nurse each academic year. We also strongly encourage parents/guardians to reach out to the responsible adult who will be supervising their student in that after-school activity to ensure that adult is aware of the medical diagnosis and any applicable rescue medications. Thank you!
Reminder for a parent/guardian to ask themselves before their student participates in an after-school activity:
Does your student have any prescribed RESCUE medication that may need to be administered, such as epinephrine auto injector, inhaler, seizure medication, diabetic management medication, or other life-threatening condition medication?
Does your student have any important medical conditions that staff should be aware of? Please provide ALL information, even if this information has already been provided to the school.
6th Grade Book Tasting!
Last week on Thursday, 6th graders participated in "Book Tasting"! Teachers put out a tasty buffet of literary treats for students to sample in both fiction and non-fiction genres. Students chose three different genres to from which they sampled books and recorded their observations.
iWalk Event
Wednesday, October 9th we will have our annual iWalk event. This is a statewide event through Safe Routes to School that encourages students to walk or ride their bike to school.
DROP OFF POINT for those who live to far to leave from home:

Leave Blair Square at 7:40 am
Arrive at Adams Middle School at 7:55 am
Families welcome to join, too!
Students and families, should make their own, safe plans for the end of the day.
Food Services Link
Please see the link below for the Holliston Public Schools Food Services Department. You can find information regarding food offerings, menus, as well as an application for free & reduced lunch. While free meals are offered to all students, other forms of assistance are also available for students who qualify.
Robert Adams Middle School is seeking paraprofessionals. At RAMS, paraprofessionals will work with students, individually or in small groups, to provide instruction, supervise, and share positive energy. The impact paraprofessionals have on the educational system is immeasurable, and we at RAMS greatly value our paraprofessionals.
If you are curious, please connect with us. You may know a new retiree, a recent college graduate, or a caring and positive person who would love to work with students. Contact Karen Manning (manningk@holliston.k12.ma.us) or Ryan Holland (hollandr@holliston.k12.ma.us). Please share this plea far and wide as you see fit. Thank you in advance!
NEW: How To Report Absences and Tardies
If your child will not be in or late to school, you have several options for reporting your child's absence or tardiness. Please be aware that if you report your child's absence or tardiness by 9:15 a.m., you will not receive a notification from Bright Arrow indicating that your child has been reported absent.
Call in your child's absence tardiness. Our RAMS Absentee mailbox is (508) 429-0657; press option 3. Please leave your child's name, grade, and reason for your child's absence.
Email us your child's absence or tardiness. Send an email to ramsattendance@holliston.k12.ma.us. Again, please leave your child's name and grade and the reason for your child's absence.
Early Dismissals
We have implemented an easy and efficient new online dismissal system to run RAMS more efficiently. When you fill out this easy Google form, the online dismissal system informs our front office staff of your child's dismissal before arrival. This allows time for us to call your child's classroom and have them ready when you arrive to pick them up.
Rather than calling the office or having them bring a note to school, if you need to dismiss your child before the end of the school day, please fill out our new online dismissal form as soon as you know you will need to dismiss your child. The form can be filled out days or weeks in advance and can be used for multiple dismissals to accommodate recurring appointments. It allows us to monitor and organize dismissals throughout the day. It has been extremely helpful on busy days when classes might enjoy the outside in the good weather or exam days. The more advance notice you give us, the better. And while we understand that there may be a day when a student needs to be dismissed last minute, the advance notice this dismissal system gives us is a massive help as we work to dismiss students promptly.
Click the link below to access the Early Dismissal Form. You may also visit our RAMS website and click on About. This will give you a drop-down menu, and the last item on that drop-down menu is Dismissal Form. Fill out the information, click Submit, and that's it! The information will be forwarded to our front office staff. Thank you for helping RAMS run more efficiently!
We are delighted to share information about Wellness II, a course that has quickly become a favorite among students since its inception in the 2023-24 school year at RAMS. With small class sizes and a highly skilled teacher, Wellness II offers a unique and engaging opportunity for students to focus on their personal well-being and achieve their goals. During the school year, students may move in and out of this course as they meet their individual objectives, providing flexibility and tailored support.
This course can replace a Unified Arts (UA) option, such as art or computer, for those who elect to take it, presenting an exciting opportunity for students interested in enhancing their wellness journey. Wellness II is open to all students at RAMS. If you are interested in enrolling your student in this innovative program, please reach out to your grade level's guidance counselor.
Below is a detailed description of the Wellness II course.
Course Description:
Wellness II (6, 7, 8) is a non-traditional Wellness offering based on the Wellness standards taught in 6-8. This course focuses on more targeted areas of support around students' Social, Emotional, and Physical well-being. The class size will be 7-12 students with topics/activities ranging from yoga, meditation, executive functioning, mental health strategies, social pragmatics, stress and anxiety prevention, and peer conflict.
