RAMS Safe and Supportive Lessons - Pride MonthRAMS Safe & Supportive School: Pride Month As you are aware, we are working incredibly hard this year to educate our, students, around what it means to be a safe and supportive school. In doing so, our Peer Leadership, GSA Clubs have been working hard at providing information, activities, lessons, and visibility of inclusivity each day. June is LGBTQ Pride Month, celebrated in classrooms and communities around the world. It's a great time to include LGBTQ themes and history into our community learning and helping LGBTQ students feel safer and more affirmed. In doing this we feel that all of our students will benefit from a better understanding of history and the groups within our community. What are we doing to demonstrate support?

PRIDE Flag RaisingRecently, RAMS members of the GSA were asked if they wanted to say a few words to those that gathered at the PRIDE flag raising at Town Hall on June 1. Proud of our students as they spoke in front of the crowd about what it meant to them to have the PRIDE flag raised in their town. Additional PRIDE related events in RAMS include:
-New PRIDE flags to decorate the inside of RAMS
-PRIDE support items such as bracelets, pins, and flags for students

8th Grade Community Service DayOn Friday, May 26, our 8th grade students took part in Holliston tradition that has now been ongoing for over 20 years! Our 8th graders took part in a day of community service whereby they traveled throughout the community from the Senior Center to HHS to Placentino & Miller, and here at RAMS to help beautify those buildings and outdoor spaces. Later that day, our students celebrated their hard work by eating some delicious pizza from Corner Market with their teachers and our PTO! What an awesome day, we are very proud of our students for their hard work!
*Parents & caregivers-we have a number of rakes and other equipment left behind from community service day. If you know your student used equipment and did not bring it home, please check out front of RAMS as we have a nice collection!*

REMINDER: Cell Phone UseWe wanted to give families notice that following the break we are going to be following our cell phone policy per the handbook with all students. Student’s cell phones should be kept in their lockers during the school day. If a student has their phone during the school day, it will be confiscated and a parent/guardian will need to pick it up. It is incredibly important that students are focused and not accessing their phones during the day.
Should you need to get a hold of your child during the day, please contact our main office and we can get them your message. We appreciate your support and conversation reminders with your student’s about this.
